Rules of Mersuforum. Read before you post!

Viesti Kirjoittaja Ylläpito »

General rules of Mersuforum, seriously shortened English version:

**********

Translated 26.2.2008 (February 26th) by Henkka the site admin

1§ Get in the right mood!
- You're among friends now. We're all like a big happy family. Everyone is some kind of Mercedes-Benz-hobbyist, -enthusiast, -gearhead, -user or -lover of one kind or the other, just like you. If you aren't then you're in a TOTALLY wrong forum.

- No such thing as a stupid question. If the answer was posted before then you can post a LINK to the answer, bitching about it won't help anyone. As for asking questions, you can try the (finnish) search "haku" before posting your question.

- Respect other people's thoughts, attitudes and vehicles. Different people enjoy different cars and different aspects of our common hobby. Everyone from Tuningfreaks to Superturbo builders, from oldtimer remodelers to just Merc drivers, we all can, will and must fit on the same forum and all enjoy it.

- There is a lot of humour in this site. And we like it that way.

**********

2§ Correct text to correct forum !

- Well, this one doesn't concern you since there is just one english forum. You might want to think of really good and accurate headlines for new posts, though.

**********

3§ Writing/Posting
- Feel free to write as much as you feel like. There's plenty of space on our dedicated server.
- Use as correct language as you can and preview your text before posting. It will be a lot more readable.
- CAPS ONLY IS SCREAMING, avoid it
- don't start a sentence without a capital letter
- use punctuation or we wont know what youre saying why is nobody answering my posts best wishes mercfreak without punctuation
- Divide a long post to chapters and separate them with empty space.
- DO NOT quote the entire message if you're only answering to one line of it. Delete the excess quote.
- DO NOT answer if all you have to say is "Yeah, me too" or "Got that right" etc.
- Under no circumstances use internet- or other slang here. ROTFLMAO OMG WTF U N00b?
- Special effects are no longer special if you use them extensively.
- If you're posting a link to a really large pic, please post just the link to the picture and not the actual picture so the pages will remain readable. Thanks!
- While children and internet newcomers might find so called "reply pictures" amusing, we've all seen every one of them a thousand times and do not wish to see a single one ever again. Seriously. Especially since dissing others is not allowed and most replypics do exactly that.

4§ Forbidden things
- Just because a particular something's not forbidden doesn't mean it's allowed. Use of common sense and good manners should suffice in most cases.
- Any insults of any kinds will NOT be tolerated.
- No flame wars: When things get emotional you should use private mesages ("yksityisviestit") for your bickering, given that both parties actually wish to argue about the issue at hand. We don't want any mile long "Did too-did not" threads even if you disagree whether Wilhem Maybach was born in 1848 or 1846 (According to internet sources it was 1846 BTW)
- NO COMMERCIALS OF ANY KIND! Contact the site admin if you wish to sponsor the site. We're real cheap.
- We remove all illegal, immoral or misbehaved things from the site, writings and writers alike.
- The most flammable issues such as religion and politics are traditionally taboo on the forum (because no one can be right and none of the moderators has the energy to remove all the flame wars these issues generate). Given that on the english forum we have users from all over the world, it is absolutely necessary to refrain from such subjects, no matter how much you'd like to express your views for or against one thing or the other. I sure know I would
Unfortuntely the problems of the world cannot be solved on Mersuforum.net english section so don't attempt to. Thank you.

* * *

If you really took the time to read through this entire novel, you are now more than ready to embark on the english forum. Have a good time with fellow Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts!

Best wishes from the site admin
