... these are all from Finland, at the moment I think the best power output from 300D Merc here is about 430HP / 800Nm (measured from the pulling tires). And it's all street legal!

Mind if I post a video of my SDL? It ain't a superturbo, but mods are Power Service Diesel Kleene(ha), no EGR, no ARV, decarboned and reconditioned exhaust and intake, new KKK turbo, new IP(don't know what the full load stop is set to), new injectors, new filters and whatnot. Turbo puts out 15 - 17 PSI at best. Average is around 14. Least is 8 @ 5400 rpm(governor).
0-70 mph
http://ejzcars.com/!acceleration%208.mov
GVWR is equal to 4880 minus the 930 lb max load rating equates to 3950 lbs curb weight, ready to drive. With me in it, it exceeds 4,000 lbs. Not too shabby considering the electronic speedometer is almost a couple mph behind according to Garmin GPS.

Hi everyone,
I can view all the videos perfectly, except this one:
http://students.tukkk.fi/tuukka.simonen ... ikala.mpeg
Neither QuickTime nor Windows Media Player will work. Can you tell me what software, or video codec, is required to view it?
Thanks!!

I wouldn't go bragging with that time. I was trying several differend adjustments in that weekend, and had serious broblems with exhaust manifold, as the studs were coming out from the cylinder head, so there was bad leaks there, and this made good start impossible.AMG Dave kirjoitti:Melitos, that worked great - thank you for the link!!

The car has 2.65 ratio, 722.3 automatic transmission and weight with me (driver) 1800 kg.
I was more impressed with the trap speed than the time, which I figured was limited by the tall 2.65 ratio. My E500 runs about 14.1-14.2 @ 99mph, unless I take out the back seats & entire trunk, then I can get it to turn 13.9 @ 101mph (at 2700 ft elevation above sea level). Your diesel wagon had a higher trap speed, despite technical difficulties! I'm impressed!! Can't wait to see how it does when you get a "good" run that you're happy with...

Two other Superturbo guys have driven 13.69 s/ 176 km/h (110 mph) and 14.3 / 179 km/h (112 mph) with their cars.
I'm hoping to break the 180 km/h line next year, but it might be diffucult with that heavy car. Maybe I should remove the back seat too
This new engine works lost of better, so I'm looking forward to next year.

Yipes! That would make my 500 look slow...!
Have you thought about changing the axle ratio? Also, how about installing a limited-slip differential, or is traction not a problem...? I'm thinking of trying to build a 2.87 limited-slip diff for my 1987 300D (stock is 2.65 open diff).

Not a video but a sound clip of a 3.5 liter 350SD at tick-over. 250 miles per qt of oil, but now I have parked it since I believe consumption has increased to <100 miles per qt.
Mercedes OM603.97x engines are known for bent rods causing premature wear and the ovaling out of the cylinder walls. Catastropic engine failure usually occurs.
Oh, yeah. That 350SD......Its mine.....Right alongside my 300SDL with the OM603.96x engine.
*First half is a 3.0 liter needing a new set of injectors, second is my car(350).

Hi guys,
I hope Mr Ajarol won't feel uncomfortable but this is so great 'video' i want to share it with all of you. [Ajarol, just ask and i will remove the picture from the net]
These still images has been photographed last summer on the very great Alastaro circuit [ http://www.alastaro.fi/moottorirata/ ]. Still pictures has been taken with Minolta Dimage 7hi camera, yes that camera is very powerfull, and there is used paint shop pro/animation shop to create a 'movie'. Therefore the acceleration speed is not real, but i can't say is it too slow or fast...but figures 13.69/176 tells everything.
You can see that 'sport car' on the first frame but on finnish line there was so lonely .

Hello folks,
Here is a video clip taken today of my car accelerating to highway. This is my MB V230 TD, W638/2, see avatar picture on the left side. There is OM601 original turboengine, with 2,3 liter volume. The pump is modified by Mynä-Diesel, turbocharger is upgraded, it's currently garret GT-20. There is also minor modification of exthaus pipe, the first curve is enlarged to be 2,5". Obviously there is a free flow air cleaner made by K&R. The engine has the original IC.
Boost pressure is currently restricted to be ~1 bar. Notice, the car has quite heavy weight, about 2000 kg.
[edit]: Currently available videos are there: http://www.kolumbus.fi/vesa.eskola/index.html
Some pictures can be found from these pages: http://www.nic.fi/~danes/w638_2/

Here's some 400m testing, one the most interesting cars in this video is rehtijii's W123 300 Turbodiesel with app. 400hp. Quarter mile in less than 14 seconds.
Another nice car is Jorma's W201 190 300 Turbodiesel with 482hp and quarter mile in less than 13,5 seconds. The car looks insanely good!
The third one to look after is that insane Volvo 244 2,8litre (engine from Nissan Cedric?) turbodiesel, also quarter mile in less than 14 seconds.
OK, here's the video: http://students.tukkk.fi/tuukka.simonen ... y_2005.wmv

That mutant 201 with 482 hp at 5900 rpm is a 12 valve OM603? The one that blew away the Vette? Holy,....!!!!
The potential for these engines is downright disturbing! I WOULDN'T mind taking my 300SDL and running side by side with an S55 Kompressor.
Everytime I see these things my breath is taken away instantly. I will seriously consider Myna diesel for the future.
That's the way to go. Did you know, they at Myna Diesel has experience of this kind of engines, i mean injection pumps:jzaroh kirjoitti:I will seriously consider Myna diesel for the future.
