hello,

I have an S210 300 Turbodiesel and of course I have seen all that mods here in Finland. I'am a big fan of old MB Diesels so i love u guys :D

I made also a website with the data from this forum:

I think it is nearly correct. unfortunately I do not speak finnish :?

So I am interested in tuning up my engine. For the first time I want to make only chiptuning. Do you know some cheap tuners?

And then I want to make some mechanical mods. My wish is to have about 250hp. but the adjustement has to be exactly. here in germany such big black exhaust gases aren't welcome. So what would the Turbodieseltuners recommend for me?

I think I have to use:
-bigger turbo
-bigger intercooler? not much space in W210 bumper :?
-new manifold?
-mechanical tuning of IP?

What about the tranny? Do you have some bad experiences? I don't want to buy another 722.6 or the rear axle. How much power can this parts take?

bigger turbo, exhaust pipe and ECU programming will do 250hp. pump has good elements inside already.

I understood not so good the finnish threads in the turbo forum :?

and back to Tuning:

How big should the turbo be? A good recommendation?

does anyone have an answer for me?
It would be great to have about 250 horsepowers in my diesel.
I have the '97 E 300 Turbodiesel.

I think a custom intercooler is of course duty.

1. But who can adjust my IP software?
I do no want to have a standard chip,
I want to have an adapted software.

2. Which Turbo would be big enough to reduce the pressure in the combustion chambres?
I think the Holset HX30 would be ok?
Can I use the original manifold with an modified flange?
Or is it better to use a new custom manifold?

3. My 722.6 has a torque converter for 330Nm max. (W5A330)
Will it sustain the bigger power or is it better to use another torque converter (W5A400 or W5A580)?

I hope to get any answer!

I am converting a 560SEL to a turbo diesel. I have a E300 TD motor but would like to use a 320 CDI motor to achieve around 250 HP also. I will be doing similar modifications including changes to the ECU software.

Common chip modifications for the factory E300 TD ECU can increase the HP from 177 to 220 and several tuners offer these.

Since my project car will not use many parameters of the input data such as transmission shift points, EGR, factory ID codes, etc., AND I will be increasing the exhaust flow and making changes to the turbo, the software needs to be modified significantly. I recently sent requests to several tuners in the US and Europe and hope to find a good tuner shortly. I will be happy to share any info to help you complete your project.

Does anyone know where I can find a used 320 CDI motor at a good price in Europe? I will be visiting next month and would like to find some good used parts suppliers.

Hi Charlie,

it would be great, if you will inform me, when you find an able chipmodder.

I know a project from the Netherlands, when a guy put a 220CDI in an W114.
I will try to find out, how or who modded his ECU.

The traninigs centre of Mercedes built an W201 with 320CDI and modded ECu also,
but I think it will be hard or quiet impossible to plca an order there...

Why don't you use the 300TD? The OM606 will make 250hp with the original pump, too.
If you want to put the CDI on 250hp you will have to change your turbo, but I did not see any bigger VNT Turbos yet.

The guru's seem to agree that the 320 turbo is good to 250HP and maybe more.

I chose the CDI because it is totally electronic. It has so much power and potential yet gives excellent fuel economy.

I worked on modding the Bosch Motronic ECUs and their engines for years and really like what they can do compared to injection pumps. The electronic diesel's numbers don't lie and when you watch torque ratings double and fuel economy go up 30%, this is very serious stuff.

Of course this will be a huge electrical and electronics excercise but someone's got to do it
