You want air in the combustion chamber where it will make power to push on the piston, not in the prechamber will it will push against the chamber wall.

HE200W or HE221W. Your engine cannot flow enough air to use an HX35.

For Sale: W123 300D euro M-Pump, 7mm high-performance M-Pump from a 1983 300D euro gray market model. Modified with 7mm elements from Diesel Kontor. Will make a great high-HP/dragstrip 300D/TD/CD/SD! It will not maintain a stable idle (surges 700-1100rpm, randomly stalls, stalls if revved without a load), hard to start, doesn't make any power until 1/2 throttle and the engine sounds like a bucket of nails. Makes very good power at full throttle though! I double checked injection timing at 24*BTD...

The pump is almost ready. The pump guy says it flows 120cc/cyl maximum but I'm going to have him adjust for 80cc/cyl as a baseline and I'll fine tune it on the engine to meet my goal power range. He said the bearings didn't have wear and he would not need to rebuild the pump. So the external oil fee...

No, that is of somebody else's myna pump. Mine is a basic pump from a gray market non-turbo 300D.

The 7mm is going in my summer car, so there is at least 3 months to wait anyways.

Thanks. I figured it must not be necessary or my pump would have failed thousands of miles ago.
I'm not sure where this picture came from, I've had it in my archives for several years.

I plan to buy 7mm elements from dieselkontor.de and have a local shop install them. Any reviews on their product?

What is the best lift pump fuel pressure for an M-Pump?
Mine runs 12psi with the relief opening at 35psi using the primer pump.
If I were to use an electric fuel pump, is 35psi too much pressure for the pump to be fed constantly?

3 inches will be more than enough for only 300hp. A 7 inch downpipe will actually be a restriction since you would be forcing the exhaust to significantly expand (slow down) then compress again (speed up) through the smaller exhaust pipes. The exhaust should be the same diameter, or slightly larger,...

What else will you do, to increase fueling? Boost alone will not make any more power.

An HX40 will be very slow to spool up, so normal driving will be poor from the bad torque.

Those coolers are not good. They have a very short airflow path across the core and a long water flow path. That means for that integrated intercooler one end of cylinders will get cool air while the opposite end cylinders will get hot air and the separate cooler on that 87 would get warm air. Long ...

Its completely up to the situation. If you're willing to hack the body and sacrifice A/C then A-A is the overall better choice. If space is limited then A-W is much better. 5/8" rubber heater hoses are far easier to route up front than 3" aluminum tubes. I prefer A-W for the space and pack...

The 290 is completely computer controlled. I'm pretty sure the mounting is different, though I know one person jerry rigged a W123 300D pump to work.

Will a 2100rpm converter from a later 722.3xx model fit a 722.315 and OM617
1600rpm is much too low to get my turbo spooled at low speeds without surge.

HX35 is much too large for an OM617 without a high output pump. You need an HX30 or HY30, anything larger will actually reduce performance (as you found out)!
