This modification alone has freed up the low end power from 1000 - 1600 ( before the turbo builds up enough boost ). Before it used to judder and not change down a gear but now it just judders just a bit and changes down quicker for a more responsive driving. Another noticeable thing is that the engine breathes and builds up revs faster - it will now even pull to the redline of 4500rpm easily where it used to run out of breathe before 4000rpm.
Am now in Penang and will dyno the car tomorrow, Monday. Will post the result if I can get the chart in softcopy. Am also going to get the egr deleted in software if possible.
Next modification on the line is to change the injectors to AMG injectors. After that the intercooler needs looking at.......
Some questions that i hope some learned guys here can answer for me.
The autobox is 722.6 (?) and is rated for 560Nm ? If I run the AMG injectors and hopefully get an extra 20% power will the gearbox be able to handle the power? If yes what are the possible program changes to make the gearbox run smoother and carry the power? If the gearbox cnnot take it what is the next series that can take the power? I have seen the 722.9 attached to the 5liter v8 at a recond shop. Is it a direct replacement or would the internals need to be mixed and changed to get the 722.6 to handle the power?
