OM603 turbo exhaust manifold

Viesti Kirjoittaja Zeitgeist »

Hi, I'd like to know how much a stock Euro-spec OM603 turbo exhaust manifold would cost, including shipping to the USA. Does anyone over there have one of these available?

A US-spec manifold cannot accept larger turbos, due to its complicated plumbing for a trap oxidizer. It's my understanding that a Holset HX 35 or similar turbo can be bolted up to the T3 mount on the stock Euro manifold.

Yes, I'm aware that a tuned header is superior, but I'm trying to upgrade in stages that my budget can absorb. I'm planning a Myna pump upgrade in the near future, so I'm just trying gather the parts at this time.

Kiitos
Casey

Maybe HX35W or Schwitzer S2BG (fits directly to stock exhaust manifold) would be more practical solution. 250hp can be done with HX40, but general driveability won't be the best available. S2 is enough for 350hp with 60mm turbine wheel...
That is what Nokileka (I believe) said to me about an om603 manifold.

Deleted questions because I found this info: http://www.mercedesshop.com/Wikka/OM617CalToFed

Man - that California emissions manifold is NASTY looking!

Once I finally get around to gathering up parts for my future Mercedes diesel project(s), I plan on making my own manifold with a custom cut head flange, common plumbing fittings called 'weld ells' and a standard T3 weld flange that are readily available online from various places.

Thanks,

Matt

I'm still interested in a stock Euro-version OM603.96 exhaust manifold, but if someone with some experience can build me a header, I'll entertain a quote.

Thanks,

Find a W140 3.5L engine. They use a non-trap manifold.

I have, but they're exceedingly rare over on this side of the pond.

Also, the 603.971 USA engine has an EGR port. If you don't want one, you need to obtain a Euro-spec 603.9xx manifold instead...

Hi, it is very complicated to find some. There is not a lot OM603.960 around.

I was shocked as well how your California EGR manifolds looks like.

Try german ebay sometimes they have some turbo diesel parts, but to be honest all parts for OM603 are quite rare.

I think that the best way is to make your own one. The factory mercedes exhaust manifolds have two parts connected together by clips.
And the pipes are terribly curved so another reason to make a custom ones

I took me a lot of time to find my engine in relatively good condition and I had to take whole car.

Good luck mate
