more power for OM602 turbo

Hello,

I have read everywhere on US forums that Finland is the place to go if you need info on benz diesels. So with that I hope you guys can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

I have as stated an 87 190D with the om602 and I'm wondering what turbo I can use other then stock with the stock pump turned all the way up? Possible an HX30? Also on Cummins 5,9L which we have in Dodge pick-up trucks over here they have common power builders with the p-7100 which is bigger DV's and injector nozzles. Is that an option with the style engine and fueling. I have a 85' German VIN'd 16v Cosworth that take most of my money so this is my DD and I'm not looking to spend a lot of money on this yet so element are out of the picture right now. Just stock pump + _____ Turbo = a decent power number maybe 200 225 is what I was hopping for.

all you need is more fuel and cool air. problem will be the fuel. you don't need nozzles, or nozzle pipes, the originals are fine. but you need good injector pump and all good pumps comes from finland with 7 or 8 mm elements. when you get that kind of pump your fuel problems are history. and then you need turbo. sometinhg like holset hx 35, or 40. and of course aircooler. and exhaus manifold and exhaus pipe. and intake manifoult. when these things are ok you'll get something around 300 hp, maybe more.

I'm not looking for extreme power, I am just trying to use what came with the engine and a bigger turbo if possible to get a little more power. For the stock pump maxed out can I put on a larger turbo then stock and be safe??

with a stock pump, larger turbo won't really give you any extra power. there is so much limits on the pump, that the maximum power comes out at around 1 bar pressure. bigger turbo does not help anything. thats what i think. whit stock turbo and 1 bar pressure you can not get even black smoke wery much or maybe even at all on your exhaust pipe. there is only 5,5mm elements that won't give much diesel to cylinders
